  1. OUR PLAN FOR THIS SECOND WEBINAR Review the first visit

and any questions Review your labs Important supplements Resources for you IHH Health Coaches input Health Coaching at IHH and stress relief classes Presentation by Katie Opalenik, FNP
  2. Raise your hand to share for a few seconds one

thing you learned from session 1 that helped you
  3. Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease…

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. Hippocrates
  4. LET’S REVIEW YOUR LABS Vitamin D3 levels to reach between

50 – 70 adding K2 prevents calcifications in the blood vessals Inflammation markers tested and try to keep the CRP-HS below 1.0 Test your homocysteine and keep it between 5-10 by eating vitamin B rich foods Test your methylmalonic acid (B12 in your tissue) and keep levels below 240
  5. Chronic inflammation is not helpful LOWERING CRP-HS - Take Sutter

Food elimination class and then test crp before introducing any new foods - Dental infections can raise crp - surgery in the past 4 weeks - other causes of inflammation that can’t be changed - Often a 4 week gluten & corn free diet will lower it in my experience ESR - a common lab ordered - can be raised slightly with allergies - lower normal is better for this lab in the single digits meaning lower inflammation is there - Sometimes Ferritin lab can be over 200 if there is inflammation
  6. The energy in the cell - mitochondria If HOMOCYSTEINE is

LOW: - ensure you’re taking enough protein - Try Braggs or TJ amino acids 1 tsp a day on your vegetables/salad until resolved. - you could be “over methylating” so cut back on any methylfolate/methylcobalamine IF HOMOCYSTEINE is HIGH: Mitochondrial dysfunction and cells aren’t getting enough energy = DNA mutations - add leafy greens, nutritional yeast - ask the oncologist about a methylated B complex (DO NOT take cyanocobalamin b12 or folate. DO take methylfolate and methylcobalamine)
  7. Digestion tips review Metric Supplements Other Diarrhea Imodium, RX Lomotil,

  9. Lab goals Insulin fasting: 5 Hemoglobin A1C: under 5.2 Insulin

Growth Factor IGF1: in the middle of normal range 35-220
  10. To Carb or not to Carb, that is the question!

Low carb is not necessarily healthy-- what KIND of carbs is key complex carbohydrates in sweet potatoes, legumes, vegetables but limit the simple carbs in pasta, rice, bread and fruit juice/fruit should be minimal combine with a fat so it digests slower
