Coleman Ledbetter

Family has always been central to Coleman Creed Ledbetter's life. Much of his creativity and determination comes from the influence of earlier generations, and those values continue to guide him today. Alongside family, his dog, Lola, has become a constant companion. Whether he is working on the ranch, fishing by the lake, or resting at home, Lola is by his side. His family and friends give him balance, reminding him of what matters most, even as he focuses on school, work, and music.

Coleman’s story began in Waller, Texas, where he grew up surrounded by wide open land, horses, and strong family traditions. Living on a horse ranch down the dirt road from his Grandparents shaped his early years. Mornings often began with ranch chores, while evenings ended with fishing or exploring the outdoors. That steady lifestyle instilled in him the value of hard work and an appreciation for simple living. Waller became more than a hometown; it was the community where he learned the importance of responsibility, honesty, and helping others. These values continue to guide his educational pursuits, professional endeavors, and personal life.

Coleman graduated from Waller High School in 2021 and began his college studies at Texas Tech before transferring to South Plains College. He expects to graduate in 2026, with plans to become an electrician. For Coleman Ledbetter, education is about more than completing classes. It is about learning skills that prepare him for life. He values the trades because they allow him to create something tangible with his own hands. Training as an electrician offers both independence and stability, while leaving space for the creative side of his life.

Music has been a part of Coleman’s journey since childhood. Around campfires, his father and grandmother would pick up guitars, and he soon joined them. What began as a family tradition became a passion. Today, Coleman writes songs, plays the guitar, and sings in a style that naturally falls into country music. The genre reflects his roots and life experiences. He has performed live in Lubbock, including at Bashas, a venue known for showcasing upcoming musicians. His inspiration often comes from Texas landscapes, outdoor experiences, and the people he loves. For him, music serves as both an outlet for expression and a means of finding balance.

When not studying or writing music, Coleman spends much of his time outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and surfing are more than hobbies—they are part of his lifestyle. Growing up in Texas instilled in him a love of wide-open spaces, and early trips to Costa Rica introduced him to the sport of surfing. It quickly became one of his favorite activities and remains an important part of his life. Whether he is fishing at a lake, hunting in Texas, or riding waves in Costa Rica, these activities allow him to recharge and return to his other pursuits with focus.

Work experience has also shaped Coleman’s outlook. At Epic Energy, he worked as a construction assistant, where he learned the realities of demanding work-sites and the importance of teamwork. He also helps manage his family’s rental properties in Costa Rica and Lubbock, Texas, where he takes on maintenance and customer service responsibilities. These roles taught him adaptability and problem-solving skills, while reinforcing his responsibility and persistence.

Service is another area where Coleman has given his time. He has participated in mission trips and volunteer projects that supported communities. With UMARMY, he worked on construction projects to improve homes and neighborhoods. At a women’s shelter, he helped build a children’s library designed to serve families. In Costa Rica, he volunteered with Cepia, a nonprofit dedicated to education and cultural development. These experiences taught him that service is not just an obligation but a privilege, and they reflect the compassion and responsibility that have guided his life.
