The West 16th Street Peace Mural

This peace mural project was conceived and led by my mother
Myrtle Turner during the summer of 1969. It spanned the exterior
walls of buildings abutting a parking lot from 15th to 16th street
along the west side of 6th Avenue in Manhattan, New York City.
This project brought together adults and children, artists and non-artists
to paint what they felt when they thought about peace on
earth.
