Elijah Sharpe and Majed Dweik Ph.D. Create New Technology, PathoX, to Protect Individuals from Biothreats Dr. Majed Dweik and Elijah Sharpe have completed research and development for a new device that will allow individuals across the world to detect for biothreats (ex. E.coli, Salmonella, and Listeria, etc.). Pathogen outbreaks and the toll it takes on our communities is what has led Dr. Dweik and Sharpe to creating PathoX. The key to reducing the hospitalization and death of individuals is to prevent biothreats and foodborne illnesses from occurring in the first place. PathoX is a device that will allow individuals to test various surfaces and food products (ex. water, meat, beverages, etc.) for dangerous, life threatening pathogens. PathoX will enable individuals across the globe to have access to affordable, sophisticated pathogen detection technology.
