Erika Mackinnon has cultivated a focused and consistent career in medical sales over the past five years. She has contributed meaningfully to her field with skills spanning business development, strategic planning, revenue growth, market research and analysis, sales forecasting, new product presentations, account management, and client relationship building. Since 2020, she has worked in medical device sales with a specialized focus on Spine. As a Spine Specialist and Sales Associate, she works in the operating room daily, directly supporting surgical teams and ensuring product performance during procedures.

Erika entered the medical sales industry after completing an intensive 440-hour postgraduate program at Medical Sales College in Sarasota, Florida. Through this training, she earned certification in Spine, Orthopedic Reconstruction, and Trauma. The program gave her a strong foundation in regenerative medicine, consultative sales techniques, orthopedic and trauma devices, and business development strategies. These skills positioned her to grow sales territories, attract new customers, and support medical teams with precision and professionalism.

Mackinnon gained comprehensive knowledge of spine procedures, biologics, orthopedic reconstruction, trauma, and sports medicine. Her academic training also included anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, orthobiologics, and medical terminology. In addition, she developed familiarity with operating room environments and hospital systems, allowing her to effectively communicate with providers and demonstrate the clinical benefits of products.

During her certification program, Erika began her career as a Sales Associate with SS Fusion Medica in Tampa, Florida. There, she supported coverage across designated territories, arranged meetings with physicians and healthcare staff, and developed lasting relationships with medical and administrative professionals.

After a year, Mackinnon joined Globus Medical in Memphis, Tennessee, where she has worked for the past four years. Her responsibilities include supporting surgical cases, managing provider relations, expanding market share, and participating in procedures such as ACDF, PCF, TLIF, PLIF, ALIF, lateral lumbar fusion, and complex spinal deformity corrections.

Erika graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 2016. Early in her career, she served as a Chief Legislative Intern in the Florida Senate, drafting materials, tracking legislation, and meeting with advocacy groups, constituents, and nonprofit representatives. She later worked as a junior lobbyist and political fundraiser.

Mackinnon went on to serve as a Business Development Analyst at GSSP in Stamford, Connecticut, where she conducted policy analysis, provided strategic insights for business opportunities, and managed the logistics of real estate and tax equity transactions. She later became Deputy Finance Director at The O’Rourke Group, where she helped build relationships with donors, managed outreach campaigns, and increased funding support through research and engagement efforts.

Erika also holds industry-related certifications, including AdvaMed Code of Ethics, HIPAA, Aseptic Technique and Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, National Patient Safety, and Protocol Certification.

Outside of work, Mackinnon has a passion for interior design. After purchasing her home, she transformed it by blending modern, vintage, and traditional styles. She enjoys restoring antique pieces and creating inviting spaces. While interior design is currently a hobby, she has considered exploring it further in the future.

Erika Mackinnon continues to advance her career in medical sales while dedicating time to her family, personal interests, and charitable giving.
