I grew up in a place where there were no applicable building codes, no inspections and at a time where a General Contractor didn’t need to be licensed (Mississippi). My Dad asked my Grandpa to serve in the role of a General Contractor for the construction of the house I grew up in. The house was built as cheaply as possible, without an architect, and on a shoestring budget, over three years.
