Jem Sirrine is the PGA/ECR team lead for International Customs Clearance at FedEx Logistics in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been with the company for nearly three years and is critical in ensuring the smooth processing of international shipments. His responsibilities include communicating with government agencies, training new agents, and troubleshooting issues related to high-value shipments. He is also responsible for ensuring that shipments meet all regulatory requirements, helping resolve delays, and contributing to improving the clearance process.
Jem’s professional journey began as an athletic training intern with the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven, Florida, after he earned his bachelor’s in athletic training from Appalachian State University. During his internship, he assisted in rehabilitating and treating player injuries and supporting minor and major league players. Following this, he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Central Florida, where he completed his Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology.
In 2000, Sirrine worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winter Park High School, where he coordinated with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for all varsity and junior varsity sports. His responsibilities included pre-practice treatments, supervising athletic training interns, and teaching Personal Health, Fitness, and Team Sports courses. Afterward, Jem moved to Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, where he served as the Head Athletic Trainer. He was responsible for managing 16 varsity sports, overseeing the department’s budget, and collaborating with orthopedic surgeons to expand the Sports Medicine team. He also taught Athletic Training, First Aid, and CPR courses.
Sirrine then worked as an Athletic Trainer at Bond Clinic in Winter Haven, where he played a significant role in growing the orthopedic department, developing new community relationships, and expanding partnerships with local schools. He also provided athletic training services, conducted patient evaluations, and managed insurance billing for the Physical Therapy Department.
After 11 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, Jem transitioned to his current role at FedEx Logistics. At FedEx, he ensures all shipments meet regulatory standards, resolves delays, and trains new agents. His contributions are crucial in improving the efficiency of the clearance process and ensuring that shipments are processed accurately and on time.
