Congressman Joe Mullins has developed a professional life centered on responsibility, persistence, and steady leadership. He serves as CEO and president of The Mullins Companies, which includes Mullins Properties and Mullins Sports & Entertainment. From a small group of early ventures, his work has grown into a diversified organization involved in real estate, sports, entertainment, and media. His approach has remained practical and grounded, with an emphasis on long-term results and community impact.
Raised in Evans, Georgia, Joe’s early years shaped his values and work ethic. In high school, he balanced academics with athletics, theater, and leadership organizations such as FBLA, Jr. Achievement, and 4H. These experiences introduced him to teamwork, public responsibility, and communication skills that later influenced both his business and public service roles. He earned a BBA in Business Management from the University of Georgia and later attended UCLA, where he studied under Hollywood agent Henry Holmes. This exposure expanded his understanding of both structured business practices and the creative industries.
Joe began his professional career in sports and entertainment, representing athletes and entertainers who later achieved national recognition and were inducted into the NFL and boxing Hall of Fame. This period taught him the importance of trust, preparation, and careful negotiation. He also worked as an intern with the Anthony Robbins companies, gaining experience in leadership development and organizational discipline that would later support his entrepreneurial efforts.
As his experience grew, Joe expanded into business ownership across several industries. His ventures came to include restaurants, franchise operations, construction projects, and real estate investments throughout the Southeast. Over time, his real estate division grew to include more than 800 multifamily units along with commercial properties. During challenging periods, including the COVID-19 storm, he guided his teams through recovery, restoring stability and improving overall performance.
Joe’s business philosophy is active and hands-on. He often invests in distressed properties, improves operations, and works to turn them into productive assets that support local economies. Strategic partnerships and redevelopment projects have been central to The Mullins Companies' growth. His sports and entertainment division has also built relationships with major corporate clients and secured sponsorships tied to college playoffs and national championship events.
Public service became another extension of his commitment to the community. Joe Mullins, Flagler, served as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, focusing on broadband expansion, mental health funding, and collaboration with state and federal partners on disaster recovery efforts. He also served as Vice Chair on the National Association of Counties Broadband Committee, helping advance rural broadband access and infrastructure improvements.
Joe also connects with a broad audience through the media. He hosts the radio program “Live, Work, Shop, Play in Florida,” which airs on Salem Media radio and online platforms across Florida and Georgia. Philanthropy remains central to his work as well. Through Mullins Charities, he has helped raise more than $10 million for organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, and the Salvation Army. Joe Mullins of Augusta has also supported local initiatives such as “Shop with a Doc.”
With more than fourteen years sober, Joe is active in opioid addiction recovery advocacy and serves on multiple task forces. Today, Congressman Joe Mullins continues to balance business leadership, public service, media, and philanthropy with a steady focus on service, stability, and community progress.
