Jess is currently a senior leader at AWS and previously the CTO at Axios and Optoro. She has over 30 years of experience working in tech; starting out in IT support, operations, and eventually development and leadership. She started treating infrastructure as code in the 90's with perl and expect scripts.

She contributes to Open Source, organizes the Joy of Programming meetup, and is the host of the DCTech Slack.

When she unplugs, Jess can be found cooking, playing music and board games, and spending time with her kid; although she often codes instead of sleeping.
