ELISE [OS]: Yeah, I don't know. Their coffee's just like-
ELISE: so sugary and always has way too much flavoring,
to the point where it's just like blegh, y'know?
ELISE: Anyways, that's why I don't go to the drive-thru
on 72nd anymore.
None
ELISE (sighs): So, do you ever feel like you're not
doing what you're supposed to?
MOM [calmly]: What do you mean?
None
ELISE: Like... that there's something more we should be doing
in life?
ELISE: I just feel like I had so many ideas
of what I wanted to do growing up-
ELISE: and now that I've grown up, I still don't
know which one is the right path.
ELISE [OS]: Everything just seems... a lot more complicated now.
ELISE [OS]: I know that, I'm being hard on myself
but,
ELISE [OS]: I do it because I feel like it's
needed.
ELISE [OS]: Like, if I don't push myself, who will?
Y'know?
ELISE: But it's exhausting. Constantly feeling like I have so
much to prove.
ELISE: Will I ever be enough, for me?
ELISE: Sorry, I'm just rambling. It doesn't really matter—
MOM [interrupting]: No, it does matter. You matter.
MOM: Honey, you put too much pressure on yourself.
MOM: You work so hard and yet you say you
have so much to prove.
MOM: But who is it that you need to prove
yourself too?
MOM: You're so young and you have so much ahead
of you.
MOM: Please don't get carried away with overthinking the future.
ELISE: I know but, it feels like I don't have
enough time.
ELISE: Everyone else is already so far ahead and, well,
where does that leave me?
MOM: On your own journey.
MOM: Everyone has their own path to take.
MOM [OS]: Life isn't a race.
MOM [OS]: If it was, it would be a very
boring one..
Because everyone would have the same place to go,
And do the same things to get there.
MOM [OS]: We all have wonderful and unique destinations.
MOM [OS]: We don't know exactly how our lives will
map out,
MOM: But we get to play a part in taking
the small steps to get there.
MOM: Don't worry. Everything's going to turn out alright. I
promise—
