2. Based on the current development, planning & news, we have come up with a prediction of figh development in next decade Note: Following path way is made with more emphasis on indigenisation a assumption on no major war breaking out.

4. By End of 2022 Based on current order of 12 Su-30,21 Mig 29, 40 Tejas Mk1, 36 Rafale g completed Aircraft Variant Numbers Total Aircraft Squadron MiG-21 54 656 36 SEPECAT Jaguar 116 MiG-29 81 Mirage 2000 49 Sukhoi Su-30 280 HAL Tejas 40 Dassault Rafale 36
5. By End of 2024 • Based on News report, 54 Mig 21 & 72 Jaguar to be retired end of 20 upgraded Jaguar Darin 3 to continue for few more years. • Assume HAL able to produce 16 Tejas MK1A in 2023 & 24. We shoul 32 MK1 A. • Assume IAF place additional 36 Rafale F4

7. • Though here, we have reduced our squadron in 2024 from 2022, but still able to maintain the power balance, as 1 Rafale = 2 Jaguar. So 3 = 72 Jaguar. Similarly 32 Tejas MK1A with its advance technology, M service availability should match the 54 Mig-21 • As a stop gap, we could purchase some squadron of Mirage 2000 fro Taiwan, if we are getting it at better price By End of 2024
8. By End of 2027 We should have remaining Tejas MK1A completed and some of MK1 cou upgraded to MK1A. This should replace final squadron of Jaguar Aircraft Variant Numbers Total Aircraft Squadron MiG-29 81 605 34 Mirage 2000 49 Sukhoi Su-30 280 HAL Tejas Mk1 40 Dassault Rafale 36 HAL Tejas Mk1A 83 Dassault Rafale F4 36

By End of 2030 • If all goes well with Tejas Mk2, we should be able to add 1 squadron each year from 2027 and end up 4 squadron of MK2 by end of 2030, the total IAF squadron tally to 37 • By 2035 we should have added more squadron of Tejas MK2 and AM reach the Dream figure of 40 squadron • After 2035 Mirage 2000, Mig 29 and even Su 30 would start to retire will be in process of catching up to replace them with more productio Tejas Mk2 & AMCA to maintain around 40 squadron
10. Final Thoughts (Opinion) Why I’m not in favor of 114 MMRCA? • Major point being stressed is we need more & immediate need of airc front war • It will take minimum 2025 to get first batch of these MMRCA after fina the deal, setting up production and start development. • So this deal is not going to help us in immediate war situation in next of years and if we are confident of maintaining 2025, then we should to maintain the situation till 2030, when we will be in better squadron • Considering current financial condition of our country, money spent in MMRCA, could cripple our spending in Mk2 & AMCA work. Again put roadblock in indigenisation efforts and we will be running towards fori country with begging bowls
11. Final Thoughts (Opinion) • We should also keep in mind we would need fighter for Navy Aircraft so we should only choose fighter from company from whom we will b Navy variant too. • Be it Rafale & Rafale-M, F-21 & F-35C, F-18 hornet. • Last but not least we should get best & maximum Transfer of technol company which ever we are choosing. Not to get fooled by empty pr • Inclusion of Rafale in previous slide is just as an example, we should limited Squadron of Air Force based on above points and invest rema Navy Aircraft, AMCA and Taiwanese Mirage 2000 (if badly needed). • In next couple of decades, UAV with AI technology would play major start competing and even replacing the fighter jets. We should put eff match that race too.
