About the books The story of the book A Song of Ice and Fire takes place on the fictional continents named Westeros and Essos but the most common action location is the continent of Westeros. His fictional universe is similar to the European Middle Ages, mixed with fantasy elements. The author puts a focus on the "darker side" of man and society and the moral shades of the characters, as opposed to - fantasy literature traditionally strong - attribution of good and evil. Over the majority of Westeros extend the seven kingdoms, but in fact for 300 years form a kingdom. The Kingdom is strongly influenced feudal; the individual parts of the empire partly differ significantly in their culture, religion, climate and their social order. The central role is played in the great noble houses that dominate each of the seven kingdoms relatively autonomous. The kingdom was ruled by House Targaryen almost 300 years, until a civil war over the power went to the house of Baratheon under the leadership of Robert Baratheon some 15 years before the novel's action. The battle of throne in the first three original volumes is a central theme of the action in the seven kingdoms, the consequences of civil war play in the 4th and 5th volume yet an important role. This action is enhanced and complemented by two additional lines of action: The night guard, guard the remote northern border of the empire, the threat is faced by wildlings and undead, also is loud prophecies with the collapse of the forthcoming multi-annual winter invasion of living in the North mysterious 'other' fears. Meanwhile, try on the neighboring continent Essos the surviving members of the former ruling dynasty Targaryen and their followers to find a way to reclaim the throne of Westeros.
  2. Conclusion George RR Martin places great emphasis on the detailed

characterization of his figures in his books. Another feature of the series is that Martin does not comply with the usual clichés and therefore does not hesitate to have also significant main characters of his story die unexpectedly. This makes it possible Martin builds a high level of voltage because none of the characters is safe. In his books we can see where the hero is all time in trouble. The author wants the reader to be afraid, when the characters are in danger to flip that they are afraid, because it could not survive the next character. So what you think is these are good books for you and spending your free time for reading and compere with one of the George RR Martin characters from the book.
