to send direct messages on twitter. • Direct messages are way to privately message the person. Your tweet:
  4. I loved the sharing at #notabookclub! • # is a

way to mark keywords or topics in a tweet. Your tweet:
  5. You need apps? Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sproutsocial. Pick one. !

Note: It’s not about the tool, it’s about how much care about the people. The best software you can use is the native twitter app. @notabookclub
  6. 8 #ProTips from @notabookclub That we picked from the books

we mentioned above! ! We did all the work for you - so that you can get straight to tweeting! Thanks us by tweeting us! (= @notabookclub
  7. Use (opinions+link) rather than (title+link) in your tweets • Why?

because people hate information. They like infotainment. • You have to find an interesting story/news/article and put your own commentary/ opinion/voice to it. • Example: Instead of saying 'checkout what @mtv said about @jayz’s new album *link*’, say: ‘ @mtv is out of their mind for giving @jayz 5/10 for his new album. Booo! *link*' Protip 1:
  8. Twitter is the only platform that you can jump in

on any conversation without appearing like a creepy stalker! • Why? because twitter allows us to be purely ‘social’ like real life. • As long as you get into conversation because you can add value, twitter will love to have you and reward you with more following. • If you like to troll, then you be penalised for it just like in real life. Unless you are extremely funny. But probably you are not. So, don’t troll! Protip 2:
  9. Twitter’s 80-20 rule: Spend 80% of time on search.twitter.com •

Search for related keywords for your business and check if there are any questions that you can answer. • The more you add value and clear doubts, then better your following will be. Check out how @garyvee did it and became one of the most followed guy in twitter. Protip 3:
  10. Always think of a way to trend jump in twitter

    • If you see any trends emerging in twitter, find a good spin of the trend in a way that highlight your brand. Funny spins work as well. • Example, when Apple’s Steve Jobs died, @thinkgeek said ‘R.I.P. Steve Jobs. See you in iCloud. It became viral and it was RTéd by many. • Note: always make sure the news is legit before jumping on it. Protip 4:
  11. Promoted tweets. • Yeap, you can pay your way to

popularity in twitter too if your business’s budget allows you to do so. • Go to business.twitter.com to find out more. Protip 5:
  12. Choose your hashtags wisely. • Good choice of hashtags can

allow your tweet to be found by others. So, think about it before you press tweet. • Note: the use of hashtag is different in twitter compared to Facebook or Instagram. In twitter, people might follow a hashtag or even just searched for it to find out the latest development on that particular topic. Protip 6:
  13. Create twitter list to group the people you follow. •

This allows you to group people by the news or content they put out or even their expertise and so on. • What’s interesting is by making these lists public, you will be able to get people to search these lists and follow the people on this list. Now, you can become the curator of good lists in twitter - that makes you an authority in the topic as well. Protip 7:
  14. learn when to use .@notabookclub and @notabookclub. • Yes, that

    was not a typo. I am not crazy. • More explanation: http://www.slideshare.net/vaynerchuk/ slidesharegvtwitter-v4-28507504 Protip 8 from @garyvee:
