Meet the Director

THE DIRECTOR FINDING FAITH AND TRUST
  2. John 18:1-11 1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he

went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered. 2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.
  3. 3 So Judas, having procured a band of soldiers and

some officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, went there with lanterns and torches and weapons. 4 Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek?
  4. 5 They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to

them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 6 When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
  5. 7 So he asked them again, “Whom do you seek?”

And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” 8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. So, if you seek me, let these men go.” 9 This was to fulfill the word that he had spoken: “Of those whom you gave me I have lost not one.”
  6. 7 So he asked them again, “Whom do you seek?”

And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” 8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. So, if you seek me, let these men go.” 9 This was to fulfill the word that he had spoken: “Of those whom you gave me I have lost not one.”
  7. 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and

struck the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.) 11 So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?”

  11. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

Resources don’t give us control. The BLING don’t mean a thing.
  12. Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The

one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard.” And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, “Rabbi!” And he kissed him. (Matt 26:48) The plan was designed to keep his role secret.
  13. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

Resources don’t give us control. Secrets don’t give control. You can’t keep it on the LOWKEY. There is no FINSTA.
  14. When Jesus had dipped the morsel(bread), he gave it to

Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you(both) are going to do, do quickly. (John 13:26-27) Jesus gave permsission and stated terms.
  15. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

  16. 4 Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him,

came forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek? Jesus was fully acquainted with the enemy’s plan and was happy to circumvent it when it suited him.
  17. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

Resources don’t give us control. Secrets don’t give control. Satan doesn’t have control. Plans don’t give control.
  18. 5 They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to

them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 6 When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground. The soldiers had swords and clubs, but no amount of force, strength or power could direct the steps of Jesus.
  19. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

Resources don’t give us control. Secrets don’t give control. Satan doesn’t have control. Plans don’t give control. Strength doesn’t give control. You can FLEX all you want!
  20. 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and

struck the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.) Jesus healed the ear (Luke 22:51)
  21. Intimacy does not give us control. Knowledge doesn’t give control.

  22. 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and

struck the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.) Jesus healed the ear (Luke 22:51) Do you not know that I could call down twelve legions of angels? (Matt. 26:53)

Resources don’t give us control. Secrets don’t give control. Satan doesn’t have control. Plans don’t give control. Strength doesn’t give control. Sickness doesn’t have control. Angels don’t have control.
  24. 11 So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into

its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?” Peter who passionately defended Jesus in the heat of the moment, passionately denied Him hours later.
  25. 52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers

of the temple and elders, who had come out against him…. When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” All authority is delegated authority.
  26. Intimacy, knowledge, secrets, resources, Satan, plans, strength, sickness, passion, angels

government, corrupt authorities… none of these things have ultimate control.
  27. Jesus is in control. We are mere actors on a

stage. We can change the inflection in our voice and bring some expression to role, but be not too hauty, Jesus is the director and He runs the show.
  28. John 18:1-11 1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he

went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden… Kidron brook: black brook or gloomy brook

my bread, has lifted his heel against me.” (Psalm 41:9) Through The Kidron
  33. When he crossed the Kidron to Gethsemane he came betrayed,

weeping and about to drink the cup of wrath.
  34. When he crossed the Kidron under arrest he came as

the passover lamb led to the slaughter… to take away the sins of the world.
  35. And he led them out as far as Bethany, and

lifting up his hands he blessed them, parted from them and was carried up into heaven. (Luke 24:50-51) Through The Kidron
