Dr. Randall G. Melchert, OD, received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1978. Before that, he attended the University of Wisconsin campuses at Madison, Oshkosh, and Fox Valley. While at ICO, he served as Class Treasurer and was honored with the Eugene W. Strawn Award for Leadership and Service, a reflection of his early dedication to professional development and community leadership.

Founded in 1978, Melchert Eye Care is guided by the motto, “Your vision is our passion.” The clinic offers a full range of services, including routine exams, advanced diagnostics, and personalized eyewear solutions. Dr. Melchert’s service efforts include international medical missions, where he has provided vision care in Thailand, Jordan, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. He has also worked with underserved populations in urban areas such as New York City and has partnered with organizations like Prevent Blindness and Samaritan’s Purse.

Faith plays a vital role in his life. He is a long-time member of Brookside Baptist Church, where he has served as chairman of the Board of Deacons and sings in the choir. His involvement in ministry and support for missionaries demonstrates his continued commitment to faith-based service.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Melchert enjoys cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, reading, and exploring historical museums. He also values time spent with his wife, five children, and grandchildren, making family a meaningful part of his life.

Optometrist Randall Melchert serves as president of VCY America, a Christian radio and television network, and is involved in the restoration of the historic Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse.
