  1. Romans is Paul’s greatest accomplishment, his magnum opus. A revelation

of God’s plan to redeem, reconcile and restore.
  2. And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you

to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
  3. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from

the inside out. Readily recognise what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:2
  4. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part

has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has Romans 12:4-8
  5. given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them

well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Romans 12:4-8
  6. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part

has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. Romans 12:4-8
  7. “When we belong to community we are forced to submit

ourselves to the rigorous practice of love. But in order to love, we must also belong.” Jen Pollock Michel - Teach Us To Want
  8. Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James (son

of Alphaeus), Simon (the zealot), and Judas (son of James). They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus. Acts 1:13
  9. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate

what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Romans 12:9-13
  10. Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing

good. Romans 12:21 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Romans 12:14
  11. "You cannot wash the feet of a dirty world if

you refuse to touch it. There is a sense of mystery to this, but it is in serving that the church finds her strength." Erwin McManus - An Unstoppable Force
