Sabrina Atwiine is a 25-year-old tech entrepreneur, mentor, leader and changemaker from a remote area in Uganda. She is passionate about People, Processes, and how to harmonize these with technology for a positive impact on communities. Throughout her childhood, she experienced the challenges of growing up in desperate poverty while nurturing a huge ambition to learn, thrive and change the world. She self-funded her education as a little girl by winning debate, Junior Achievement, essay writing competitions, and school bursaries at some point.

In 2017 she was introduced to technology entrepreneurship through Technovation, following which she became a student ambassador, inspiring over 200 girls in Kabale district and Gulu to learn about solving real problems in their communities through technology and entrepreneurship.

Sabrina founded NIMARUNGI in 2020 - where she is building an education data aggregation, analysis and reporting platform to: 1) document and identify vulnerable children and youth who are not receiving an education; 2)better direct resources to those who need them; 3) increase accountability by tracking the impact of resources on these communities and how meaningful the educ. In addition, NIMARUNGI will also provide data literacy and data-driven decision-making skills among partners and stakeholders.

In 2022 Sabrina worked on a project called Efe which later made her the 2023 Technovation Changemaker award winner winning USD 5000 Which she has used to support over 15 women in Kabale district to grow their small businesses. EFE solves the Gendered Division of labor problem which particularly affects women in rural areas. This problem grounds women in rural areas in domestic spaces where their Potential, services, and skills are not given the appropriate commercial Value. They are denied the ability to earn from skills that improve their economic and even social status. The impact of this is that women become more vulnerable to gender-based violence, and limited access to resources like education, healthcare, and necessities. There’s also the challenge of Limited participation in decision-making processes both in their households and in their communities and this can further reinforce gender inequalities and limit women's ability to advocate for their own needs, interests, and more so the larger economy. She uses business development to monetize women's talents, skills, and knowledge as well as Financial management and literacy to solve the problem.

In 2021, Sabrina launched the Undergraduate Talent Tech Entrepreneurship program (UTTEP) in Partnership with Outbox Uganda, The Innovation Village, and Starthub Africa where she mobilized over 450 enterprising university students and took them through an 8-week curriculum from the stage of business ideation to monetization, investment, and market readiness.

Sabrina has got an opportunity to share platforms with the worlds most influential changemakers due to her love for community development. In August 2023 sabrina was invited by the United Nations to speak at the High-level Political Forum on SDG 9 and to help review the progress of Sustainable Development Goals from a youth perspective in developing countries. She was expected to advise the UN’s member states on better and more effective strategies to realise SDG 9 which she did excellently well at the UN headquarters in New York. Sabrina has also gotten a chance to speak at TED X she believes that meaningful conversations are a very huge part of change-making and she takes part in these conversations by participating in debate tournaments and panel discussions on themes that rotate around community growth.

Recently she graduated with a law degree and is excited to leverage legal skills to fight for the rights and protection of people in the communities she represents..
