  1. The Celebrate Garbage Festival The celebrate garbage festival will be

sheduled during the Nile Rise festival. It serves as a common place to network, learn and take an action as a community to combat the uprising waste management problem in Abu Sir.
  2. Stage The stage and its surroundings provide the opportunity for

exploration, recreation, experience, experiment, catharsis and relaxation. The idea is to have music, dance, theater and other performances as well as workshops for body and soul. All in a manner that allows the participants to find their balance. Naturally, the local population can take active part in peforming and offering workshops.
  3. Networking The network point allows people to connect, network, exchange

and collaborate. For example, universities can offer programmes or establish contact to the business community in order to kickstart a new project. Companies can offer job opportunities or present new developments. Last but not least, social contacts can be made.
  4. Workshops The festival serves as a classroom too as well!

Worshops will be targeted towards learning how to upcycle and use your creativity to make products out of waste.
  5. Cooking Sabah! One of the persons who understands the ins

and outs of authentic Egyptian food. This stand will help visitors to talk to Sabah about recipes and maybe can cook along with her. Also many dishes made by Sabah can be bought here.
  6. Imagine piles of waste. Now imagine turning old light bulbs

into candles, flip flops into plant holders and T-shirts into scarfs. We are not talking about magic or highly advanced technology – all this requires only a bit of garbage, know-how, time and motivation. Come to or ‘Upcycling workshop’ and see first-hand how you can transform ordinary out-of-use things into amazing new items that would fit into every household.
