I initially opened this email from Pizza Express because the subject header read ‘Happy Birthday Sonya’, which was intriguing.
But what really made this email stand out from the crowd was its unique use of personalisation. To my surprise, my name was displayed in the main image of the email, written in the pizza dough flour. I’ve never seen this type of email personalisation before and it was really nice to see. Together with the Happy Birthday message and free bottle of Prosecco offer, it was hands down the most memorable Happy Birthday message I’ve ever had.
