11, 2023 10:12AM 1:38 SUMMARY KEYWORDS bare minimum, minimum, day, bar, vomiting, plan, healthiest, haley, buffer, nap, food, mastery, sleep, beating, routine, planning, cooked, meet, extra, kid SPEAKERS Patricia Sung Patricia Sung 00:01 So how do we balance that out? We've got number three here. The goal here is to plan for the minimum, plus the buffer time. So we talked a lot about buffer time, like in daily planning and time management mastery, like these plans as we're making them for the day, we want to set the bars like what's the minimum that has to get done? Like earlier? Haley's kids are vomiting, like, she's not gonna get done all the stuff that she could get done on a normal day. So what's the bare minimum? Like, everybody needs some kind of food doesn't need to be the healthiest thing doesn't need to be home cooked? No, everybody just needs some food. You got to go to sleep at some point, but like, what do you got vomiting kid? Are you going to be getting your glorious seven hours and hours of sleep? No. You're going to figure out like, okay, bare minimum, I gotta get five. Do I need to call in some reinforcements? Can my sister in law come over? Can I take a nap when they nap? Like, we're setting that bar, like, what's the bare minimum that has to get done? So that we know that even on those rough days, we can get done the basic amount of things, I picked them up from school or dropped them off, or I had somebody calling somebody to help. When we just need to meet this minimum bar, and we can meet that minimum bar, then we're not beating ourselves up for what didn't happen. And then when you have extra capacity, we can then do extra. So if the bare minimum in your schedule routine gets done, then you have space on the DS where you have more energy to do the extra things. We're not beating ourselves up because we didn't meet that minimum level.
