Thorsten is a LibreOffice hacker and standards wonk. Beyond LibreOffice, he's contributed to a number of other FLOSS projects like libvirt and ceph; he's a member of the OASIS ODF technical committee since 2008.

Thorsten's a computer scientist by education, and a Free Software enthusiast by heart, a geek from early childhood - and someone who was lucky enough to turn a hobby into an occupation. After first working for Sun Microsystems on then-OpenOffice.org, he then went with a number of others founding The Document Foundation and the LibreOffice project.

These days, he's running a small LibreOffice consultancy and engineering team at http://libreoffice.cib.de. He very gratefully acknowledges his employer CIB for sponsoring him having fun hacking open source all day!
