Winthrop Edward Jeanfreau is an entrepreneur, executive, and civic educator with more than three decades of experience spanning manufacturing, finance, education, and firearms training. Throughout his professional life, he has founded 12 companies, with eight successful exits that together generated over $680 million in revenue impact. His career has included roles as a founder, executive leader, and university administrator, supported by certifications in business analysis, financial services, and firearms instruction. He is also a published writer and a recognized advocate for constitutional education, with a focus on empowering others through preparation and knowledge.
Win Jeanfreau began his academic journey at the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication along with a minor in Business. He then advanced his studies at the University of Oregon, completing an MBA that provided a strong foundation for his future leadership and business ventures.
His entrepreneurial path took shape in the 1990s with the launch of Kameleon International, a vending franchise system that expanded into 10 states. By creating proprietary intellectual property and a structured training model, Win built a company that achieved 100% franchisee longevity, an uncommon achievement in franchising. After establishing it as profitable and scalable, the business was sold. Around the same period, he co-owned Shred-it Oregon, part of a global document destruction company. Competing within a network of over 100 branches, his location became the fastest-growing and most profitable. He led sales for three consecutive years, breaking records and building a strong culture of performance before selling the operation for a significant return.
In 1999, he founded Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer high-fidelity audio company. Long before online retail became the norm, he recognized the opportunity to connect directly with customers. By overseeing engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, Jeanfreau built the company into a respected global brand with award-winning products. This venture eventually closed with another successful exit.
Win later co-founded a financial services firm in Portland that merged into one of Oregon’s leading independent wealth management companies. His innovative approach included offering financial literacy seminars at community colleges, helping expand both public education and client engagement. The firm was eventually merged into a national wealth advisory company.
From 2013 to 2018, he worked at Utah Valley University, holding several leadership roles, including Acting Associate Vice-President of Academic Outreach and Economic Development. Under his leadership, the Business Resource Center supported more than $20 million in capital infusion and helped create 143 jobs within three years.
In more recent years, his focus has turned to firearms training and constitutional education. As a certified instructor and Constitution Coach, he provides professional training in safety, accuracy, and situational awareness, while also guiding citizens to understand their constitutional rights and responsibilities better. His instruction covers handguns, rifles, and shotguns, combining technical skill with civic education.
Beyond his professional work, he has dedicated time to faith and community service. Jeanfreau served a mission in New England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, volunteered for six years as a Scoutmaster, and served for four years as a Civil Air Patrol Captain. He continues to support charitable causes and also contributes as a member of the Women’s Leadership Forum board.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, tennis, scuba diving, motorcycling, piloting, and spending time with family, especially on the water. Win Jeanfreau has built a career that balances professional success with service, education, and dedication to community values.
