  1. Student Congress had held elections in ANGEL, and we needed

a robust solution in Sakai. •  Made sites by Class Year •  Added Evaluation System tool to sites for “ballots” •  Set start and stop times for each ballot •  Sent reminder emails to students who hadn’t voted Max participation? 57%! Vote in Sakai A few small problems ⾠ A question has to have at least two choices, but candidates could run unopposed ü  Congress decided as long as one person voted for the candidate, it didn’t matter how many voted for “blank” ⾠ For Representative, no more than five could be selected, but there was no way to restrict choices ü  Results were brought into an Excel spreadsheet to throw out illegal ballots By Rama, Wikimedia Commons https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Election_MG_3455.JPG By Rob Boudon http://www.flickr.com/photos/robboudon/291583692/sizes/o/ Using Evaluations for Elections! Adam Hauerwas, Providence College •  1000 students in each site •  One evaluation per class year for class elections •  A different evaluation assigned to all classes for Executive Elections •  Results were collected in a single place •  Convenient reporting! Thanks to Jim Mezzanotte and ANI’s Sakai Team for guidance!
