Alexander Staffa earned an Associate of Science degree from Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs and later attended Metropolitan State University of Denver. After living in Colorado for 29 years, he relocated to Amesbury, Massachusetts, where he plans to complete his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He has submitted applications to several universities in the state to continue his studies and advance his academic goals.
While exploring his options for higher education, he is living near Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Louisville, Colorado, he now resides in a coastal area renowned for its vibrant social scene and thriving tourism industry. Being surrounded by visitors from many different places adds variety to his days and gives him a sense of connection as he plans his next steps.
His interest in chemistry comes from a natural curiosity about how the world operates. He is intrigued by atoms, molecules, and reactions that influence everyday life, from the food we eat to the medicines we use and the environment in which we live. He feels comfortable in the lab, where he can experiment, analyze results, and apply theory to practice. Whether working with new compounds, studying materials, or exploring sustainable processes, he values precision and enjoys solving complex problems.
He approaches his work with focus and imagination, able to visualize hidden processes and use data to find solutions that make a difference. His studies in chemistry open a range of career opportunities, including pharmaceuticals, environmental research, forensics, and education.
Born in Louisville, Colorado, he began skiing at the age of five and grew up near ski destinations like Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin. While studying in Steamboat Springs, known as “Ski Town, USA,” he skied 100 days a year across three seasons between 2013 and 2016. Skiing helps him stay active, build endurance, and connect with nature while finding peace in the outdoors.
Outside of skiing, he enjoys dirt biking, hiking, tubing, and playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, which combine creativity and problem-solving. Through his education, work, and interests, Alexander Staffa continues to pursue growth, curiosity, and meaningful experiences throughout his life.
