Alex Ostrovsky is a business executive, product strategist, and sales leader with extensive experience in consumer goods and electrical manufacturing. He currently serves as Executive Director of Business and Product Development for Smart Fans at Modern Forms, where he leads strategy and execution for a technically complex and design-driven smart home category.

His move into consumer goods was intentional. Early in his career, he recognized that the skills developed through legal training, including preparation, negotiation, persuasion, and accountability, could translate directly into commercial leadership. Alex has consistently approached sales as a coordinated system that connects customer needs, operational capabilities, and long-term brand value rather than as a transactional role.

He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University. During law school, he served as President of the Criminal Law Association and competed on the trial team at a national competition in Chicago. He is licensed as an attorney in Indiana and later became a managing real estate broker. These experiences strengthened his understanding of regulatory frameworks and complex negotiations. Instead of continuing in traditional legal practice, Alex Ostrovskyy chose to work more closely with business strategy and decision-making.

He built much of his commercial background at Fanimation Ceiling Fans, where he advanced from National Account Manager to National Sales Manager. He managed key national accounts, including Ferguson Enterprises, and led e-commerce strategy across Amazon, Wayfair, Build.com, and specialty lighting retailers. His responsibilities included overseeing product lifecycles, pricing strategies, inventory planning, and competitive analysis. Alexander Ostrovsky of Indiana also created the company’s first national buying program to establish a clearer and more measurable process for account growth.

For a little over 8 years at Modern Forms, he progressed from National Sales Manager – Smart Fans to Director of Sales & Product Management, and in March 2025 was promoted to Executive Director of Business and Product Development. He works with executive leadership to define ceiling fan strategy across the WAC Group portfolio, leading sales planning, customer management, and connected-fan product development from concept to launch. He evaluates emerging technologies, collaborates with suppliers, manages tooling budgets, and balances pricing and inventory decisions. Through steady leadership and disciplined execution, Alex Ostrovsky continues to influence the development of smart ceiling fans.
