Anais Amin is a Los Angeles-based professional whose work spans journalism, marketing, and community advocacy. Raised in Los Angeles, Anais earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, she served in student government as one of 14 elected council members representing more than 30,000 undergraduates. In this role, she advanced initiatives in social justice, higher education access, and mental health support for returning veterans while managing a volunteer team of 40 and moderating a congressional debate.
Anais continued her education at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, completing her degree in 2020 with a focus on audio, text, and video reporting. Her academic work included a five-thousand-word5,000-word project on a Syrian refugee family, a published personal history piece, and a video on medication-assisted recovery. She also reported from Bronx courts, producing investigative stories on institutional abuse and excessive use of force.
Her professional journalism career began in radio production, including roles at Marketplace, produced by American Public Media, and KPFK Radio. As a production assistant and intern, Anais researched and booked guests, edited interviews, wrote scripts, and produced broadcast-ready audio segments. She collaborated with senior producers on daily programming and digital content, contributing interviews, essays, and investigative reporting under tight editorial deadlines.
Alongside journalism, Anais Amin has built a career in marketing and brand management. She currently serves as a Marketing and Brand Manager for a fashion manufacturer, overseeing major accounts and leading campaigns. Her earlier roles included executive assistance, public relations, and advocacy work supporting poverty reduction legislation. Outside of work, Anais is a trained oil painter, photographer, outdoor enthusiast, and museum visitor. She is fluent in Armenian and English and continues to develop her Spanish skills.
