Storyboard done as an assignment for Sergio Paez's Story Artist Mentorship for Summer 2022, which I then uploaded as part of the Nickelodeon Artist Program.

1. Action Notes Joe walks towards his house
4. Dialog JOE: ...
7. Dialog SFX: Door
8. Action Notes Joe suddenly feels a buzz in his pocket.
9. Action Notes He fishes out his phone...
10. Action Notes ...and takes a seat.
11. Dialog TEXT MESSAGE: hey man, sorry i couldnt make it :( hope u have a fun birthday tho!
12. Dialog SFX: Texting
13. Dialog JOE'S REPLY: no worries dude thx 4 the wishes :]
15. Dialog JOE: [sighs]
16. Dialog ???: (OFF SCREEN) Why so glum, Joe?
19. Action Notes Joe screams and retreats to the edge of the sofa
20. Dialog JOE: W-w-what the--?! WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?!
21. Dialog GIGGLES: I'm Giggles the Clown! Your imaginary friend from childhood!
22. Dialog JOE: Imaginary Frie-?
23. Dialog JOE: I NEVER HAD IMAGINARY FRIENDS!
24. Dialog GIGGLES: HA! Oh, you're a real joker, Joe!
25. Dialog JOE: No, I'm serious! I've never had ANY imaginary friends as a kid!
26. Dialog JOE: I've had PLENTY of friends since preschool! NONE of them being imaginary!
27. Dialog CHAMSLEY: It's quite alright if you don't remember us, Joe
28. Dialog CHAMSLEY: Not everyone tends to remember they had imaginary friends in their childhood as they grow older. It's a completely natural part of the maturing process.
29. Dialog GIGGLES: Thaaaat's right! So we're not at all upset that you forgot about us!
30. Dialog JOE: But...but...! No, nononono, this HAS to be a mistake!
31. Dialog JOE: You both got the wrong guy! Surely there's another Joe you?re confusing me with!
32. Dialog GIGGLES: Nope! You're OUR Joe! We've known ya since you were a widdle tater tot!
33. Dialog CHAMSLEY: Yes, and we've watched you grow up into the strapping young man you are today!
34. Dialog GIGGLES: ...and now we've put together a special gathering just for YOUR special day! JOE: GATHERING?! There's more of you?!?!
35. Dialog SFX: Horse Hooves
38. Dialog CAGEICORN: Y'all better hurry. Everyone's waiting in the kitchen.
40. Dialog JOE: There is...
41. Dialog JOE: ABSOLUTELY NO WAY...
42. Dialog JOE: ...I imagined THAT as a little kid!
43. Dialog CAGEICORN: Ya didn't. I'm your spirit animal.
45. Dialog JOE: Well, I guess that makes a LITTLE more sense.
46. Dialog GIGGLES: Let's go, Joe! TO THE KITCHEN!
50. Action Notes Joe's head is smacked on the door frame
51. Dialog JOE: AAAAAAAGHHHH....
54. Dialog IMAGINARY CREATURES: SURPRIIIISE!

58. Dialog RANDOM CHARACTER 01: Blow out the candles, Joe! RANDOM CHARACTER 02: Yeah, blow em out, Joe!
59. Action Notes A squelching noise is heard from the cake.
60. Dialog CAKE: Come on, Joe! Blow out my candles!
61. Dialog JOE: ...uh...
62. Dialog CAKE: You gotta do it like this, watch, ready? Ya ready? One, two, three!
63. Dialog CAKE: Aaaaahhh- THHHHHBBBBBPPPTTT!
64. Dialog The cake blows on Joe, sending specks of saliva and cake frosting spattering onto his face
65. Dialog RANDOM CHAR 03: Haha! He got you! You gotta do it back to him now!
66. Dialog CAKE: You can do it, Joe! Just blow! Like this!
67. Dialog CAKE: THHHHHHPPPBBBBT! Action Notes Joe's face gets assaulted with more spittle and frosting.
68. Dialog CAKE: Blow out my candles, Joe! Do it! DO IT! JOE: ALRIGHT ALREADY!!!
69. Action Notes Joe begins to blow out the candles...
70. Action Notes But Giggles comes up from behind and mushes his face into the cake.
71. Action Notes Everyone laughs as Joe sits there with cake on his face.

74. Action Notes The cake, still alive, gives out a doofy laugh...
75. Action Notes ...then sticks out a long weird tongue
76. Action Notes ...and licks the frosting off of Joe's face
78. Dialog CAKE: Ahahaaaaa, I taste so gooooood!

81. Dialog SFX: Alarm clock Action Notes Joe suddenly wakes up in his bed with a gasp

85. Action Notes Joe yawns as he leaves his room, heading for the kitchen.

94. Action Notes Joe is on the floor, having fainted.
