  1. Love Always The Big Brush Strokes To leave a godly

legacy, we must think about the impact of our lives on future generations. Our hope of leaving a lasting legacy is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Leaving a godly legacy requires putting a stake in the ground.
  2. What legacy have I experienced? Many of us have experienced

and witnessed serial relationship dysfunction. Many of our relatives marriages have ended in divorce. When do we draw a line in the sand and say “enough”? You can’t focus on what’s wrong to build a legacy, you must focus on what’s right.
  3. Ps 112:1-2 1 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man

who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! 2 His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. ESV
  4. Ps 127:1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour

in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. KJV
  5. Leaving a legacy • Every couple has to make a

choice to “put a stake in the ground”? And start a new legacy with their family. • One of the greatest gifts you can give to the next generation is faithfulness and fidelity in marriage.
  6. Consider the following  Hope for leaving a lasting legacy

is through the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Your marriage is a picture of the gospel to a watching world. Marital relationships are the central glue holding civilization together.
  7. Plan to leave a legacy that will outlive you 1.

Fear the Lord and obey Him. (Proverb 1:7) 2. Pray as a couple that God will use you to accomplish His purposes. (1 Chron. 4:10) 3. Help your spouse be a better steward of his/her gifts and abilities. (Heb. 10:24) 4. Ask God to use you and your wife to mentor a couple coming up behind you.
  8. Remember… Every man leaves a lasting influence that will affect

future generations for centuries to come. A spiritual legacy is one that money can’t buy and taxes can’t take away. A spiritual legacy is passing down to the next generation what matters most.
  9. Completing the Picture I must think about the impact of

my life on future generations. My hope for leaving a lasting legacy is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will begin to leave a godly legacy by “putting a stake in the ground” today.
