Craig Spiesman, a retired Restoration Account Manager, grew up in a middle-class family in Parsippany, New Jersey. His life reflects the values he was raised with—hard work, dedication, and a love for family. Now retired, he fills his days with a variety of hobbies, community activities, and time spent with his loved ones.
His interest in amateur photography developed during his travels throughout the Southeastern United States and the Hawaiian Islands. Armed with just an iPhone, he began capturing the beauty he encountered, from the rolling hills of Northern Georgia to the stunning beaches of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the rainbow-adorned shores of Hawaii. His photos document not only landscapes but also personal moments, like sunsets over Kauai’s beaches, snapshots of him and his wife Cindy playing golf in Maui, and the breathtaking views from Haleakala volcano and the Napali Coast. Each photograph serves as a reminder of the memories he and Cindy have created together, preserving them for future reflection and sharing with friends and family.
In his retirement, he has found joy in what many refer to as the gentleman’s sports—golf and billiards. He is a regular at local golf courses in the Atlanta suburbs, where, though his swing may not be the most graceful, he profoundly enjoys the camaraderie of fellow golfers. Wednesdays bring another cherished tradition: billiards night at the community’s neighborhood clubhouse. Craig, who participates in weekly 8-ball tournaments, has recently been on a winning streak, much to the delight of his friends.
One of the greatest joys in his life is the time he spends with his family. He and Cindy moved back to Georgia to be closer to her family, who all live within a 30-minute drive of their home in Hoschton, Georgia. Sundays are often reserved for family lunches at the home of Cindy’s cousin, Chris, and his wife, Gail. These gatherings are filled with laughter, good food, and plenty of reminiscing. Cindy and Chris often share stories from their youth in Athens, while other family members contribute tales of their adventures growing up in the country. For him, these moments are invaluable, reinforcing the bonds of family and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Every Sunday, Craig and Cindy attend services at Southside Church, where they have found a spiritual home. They appreciate the uplifting and positive messages delivered by Pastor Jeff and Assistant Pastor Allen. Regardless of the challenges they face, attending church each week leaves them feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever lies ahead. Southside Church has become a vital part of their weekly routine, offering a sense of community and spiritual nourishment that they hold dear.
