  2. 04 - Created a web application covering the National Collegiate

Athletic Association men's basketball league - Website contains five pages: Teams, Conferences, Players, About, and Home - Collected data for each team, conference, and player in the NCAA men's basketball league Background Overview of the project
  3. 05 Objectives What we want to achieve The Purpose of

this website is to provide users with information about NCAA men's basketball in one streamlined place. We wanted to create a space where all this information could be easily accessed, manipulated, and searched through. Users should be able to stay up to date on changing statistics.
  4. 12 Through GCP, we extracted information from our APIs and

added them into our database. DBeaver was helpful in seeing our data. SQLAlchemy Using dynamic HTML pages, we were able to produce individual unique webpages for each Team, Conference, and Player. Dynamic HTML

  6. 16 Restful APIs One of the key advantages of REST

APIs is that they provide a great deal of flexibility such that data is not tied to resources or methods, so REST can handle multiple types of calls, return different data formats Why RESTful Apis Postman is the computer application we used for API testing. Postman sends an API request to the web server and receives the response, whatever it is. No extra work or setting up of framework is required while sending and receiving requests in Postman. The feature of saving example tests is also quite useful Postman Using Postman for our testing was quite simple. We first created our workspace and its respective files, entered our url and we began testing immediately with some of postman's prewritten test. Testing with Postman
  7. 17 Search Functionality Implementing Search in each table Making Links

Clickable Formatting the Search Bar Implementing Pagination

  9. 22 Our Critiques for ncaambb.me Implementing sorting function while having

pagination Consistently used appropriate branches to develop new features and then merged into the master branch What did we do well? Using Flask, Postgres and API to build dynamic contents. Bootstrap for layout design Javascript for sorting Postman for API documentation and testing What did we learn? Obtaining all the players information without overwhelming our database Further develop some UI features What can we do better? Integrating GCP with the database was a point of confusion for our team What puzzles us?
  10. 23 Our Critiques for turisme.me The sliding splash page allows

for a very beautiful and sophisticated first impression of the website A wide arrary of sorting options were provided for each page allowing easy filtering of data What did they do well? We learnt about various types of attractions availble to us in different cities of different countries What did we learn? The default background colour for the pages could be improved to a more vibrant colour that would go with the travel theme As a potential tourist , I would like to see more pictures on each page or at least for attractions as in some instances it was very wordy eg Attractions What can they do better? After clicking on the links of the cards in "Cities" and "Countries" , only a title page is provided. This maybe a backend/hosting issue As a potential tourist, I question the necessity of longitude and latitude What puzzles us?
