David Chang

David Chang was born in 1968 in Malaysia. With a journalist father, and an English teacher mother, it seemed like his path in life was clear. He confounded everyone by studying for a Materials Science degree at Imperial College, University of London. He then worked as a Research Assistant in Orthopaedic Biomaterials at the National University of Singapore where he got a post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. A trained scientist and professional engineer, David spent the last few years getting paid to break things in order to find out how strong they are.
Now on his third life, David has a Diploma in Creative Writing from the Open University. He’s finally admitted to his parents that they were right after all, quit his job and is now a full time student on the Creative Writing: The Novel MA at Brunel University. He is a volunteer and management committee member of the Beacon Village Community Library, where he has an interest in promoting literacy for children.
