  1. We are creating a tool belt for common business needs.

We want to make some parts of management as engaging as designing or programming.
  2. Our two main tools at the time are payment processing

and accounting. We are rethinking how this services should be offered and what they should enable.
  3. We like to thing about ourselves as some kind of

Amazon Web Services, but instead of cloud services we provide business operation tools.
  4. Problems • Some business services aren’t available or adapted to

some local contexts, specially in emerging markets. • Design once serve all, doesn’t cover IT/web needs in many business areas (web payments, accounting, invoicing...). • Quality, experience, simplicity and price present barriers in the cases where localized services are offered. ’
  5. We can create first class business services for emerging economies,

group them as a tool belt and localize them with minor costs.
  6. Simplicity Single or grouped tools include: • Local payment networks.

    • Connected to global networks. • Replicable software core. • Interoperability between tools. • Local currency/language. Localized branding.
  7. A toolkit, not a single service. We offer heavily connected

apps with interoperability at the core. Think Adobe Creative Suite.
  8. Replicable core, low cost to enter new markets. Colombia has

been a great example proving this possible. Think google ads with small localized offices only for sales (no dev).
  9. • Lowering prices thanks to built-in interoperability of our tools

(think amazon web services) • Cheaply localizing operations with local regulatory compliance in emerging markets before than developed ones (think google operations) • Bringing emotional factors, user centered design & branding to enterprise services. (think Zendesk & Github)
  10. • Spotted channels to target local startups (events, blogs, social

media). • Identified free press sources & contacts. • Content strategy with video and tips to position Vlipco as an expert voice. • Online advertising. • Capturing competitors’ unsatisfied customers. • Connecting existing quality services to our network (e.g. Connecting Shopify to our payment/accounting solution)
  11. What’s done • Standing agreements with AMEX and VISA for

Colombian and internationally issued cards. • Two landed advisors for the accounting tool. • Incorporated for +1y in Colombia • Legal issues fully solved, ready to implement and sell. ⁄
  12. • Standing offers for credit card tokenization to minimize risk

and avoid PCI DSS scope. • Standing custom negotiation offer for critical application deployment and technical support with Heroku. • Standing offer from fiduciary company to manage client’s money securely. What’s done ⁄
  13. PagosOnline and MercadoPago lead with high prices, low design and

slow customer acquisition. Customer retention is high because there’s no strong competitor.
  14. We can, they can’t They can, we can’t PagosOnline Dinero

Mail MercadoPago Lower customer acquisition cost Contemporary web technologies Faster development & movement across the acquisition funnel Connect payments to accounting and tracking tools Best contracted rates Known name/existence Used by larger companies like local airlines, retailers Paypal 2 Checkout Use local banks to withdraw money Cover local taxes laws Use COP, CLP, PEH, ARS Bank accounts in USD Fewer regulations because they’re bounded by US laws Access US-only service providers Negotiate directly with US banks and credit card franchises Full control of the payment stack Internationally known brand Authorize.net Cybersource Serve non merchants Cover local banks Connect closed credit card franchises (CRM Falabella) Fit local needs Bank accounts in USD Fewer regulations because they’re bounded by US laws Access US-only service providers Negotiate directly with US banks and credit card franchises Full control of the payment stack Internationally known brand
