Denette Dunn is a sustainability expert and public speaker with a dedicated career in public service and the private sector. Having served as a vice mayor, she now represents the Pine District as a council member.

As a council member, Denette established the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to address the unique needs of her district. The committee, now with over 100 members, including residents and public officials, reflects her ability to create meaningful connections and foster collaboration in her community.

Dunn’s professional background includes significant experience in the private sector. She worked as the Municipal Services Manager for Republic Services, overseeing municipal contracts worth over $85 million in the southwest region. She also served as a registered lobbyist, advocating for legislation to support mutually beneficial partnerships between municipalities and private entities.

Her leadership extends to various boards and commissions, such as the WESTMARC Board and the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission. Dunn also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, working to promote sustainable practices and policies throughout the state.

Before her career in public service, Denette Dunn held various roles in marketing, sales, and management. From 2007 to 2011, she worked at Hudson Baylor Corporation as the Director of Marketing and Community Relations, where she oversaw material recovery operations and managed public relations efforts. She was instrumental in developing relationships with municipal and state leaders and securing grants and sponsorships to support the company’s initiatives.

Following her time at Hudson Baylor, Dunn continued her work at Republic Services, where she managed contracts and played a key role in legislative advocacy. Later, at Dickson Sweeping, she helped the company expand its operations in Arizona and Nevada, contributing to projects like compressed natural gas fuel stations.

Since 2019, Denette Dunn has been a member of the Peoria Council, working on local development and sustainability efforts. She is also involved in charitable causes, supporting organizations like Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, a nonprofit focused on anti-bullying efforts in Peoria.
