Dr. Gabriel Carabello

Dr. Gabriel Carabello is a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than three decades of experience treating patients with a wide range of vascular conditions. Raised in Los Angeles, California, he has devoted his professional life to helping individuals manage and recover from issues such as carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and peripheral vascular disease. His path through academic medicine, private practice, and hospital-based care reflects a steady dedication to patient health, with a focus on clinical precision and long-term outcomes.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Loyola Marymount University in 1985, followed by a medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1989. His post-graduate training began with an Internship and Residency in General Surgery at King-Drew Medical Center, where he served from 1989 to 1995. A Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship came next, completed in 1996, and then a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at UCLA in 1997. He later broadened his skills further with a Mini Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital in 2008.

Throughout his career, he has worked in hospitals and clinics across California, Arizona, and Florida. In each role, whether serving long-term or filling critical short-term needs, he has focused on vascular access procedures and complex endovascular cases. His work has included affiliations with Yuma Regional Medical Center, HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, and several Los Angeles-based facilities. Over the years, he has also maintained surgical privileges at multiple medical centers.

From 1997 to 1999, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, passing on his knowledge to medical students while continuing his development. He is licensed to practice in four states and maintains certifications in both General and Vascular Surgery through the American Board of Surgery. In addition, Gabriel Carabello, MD, holds certifications in life support and sedation practices, and he communicates effectively in both English and Spanish.

His contributions extend to academic publishing, with research covering topics such as trauma-related complications and access to surgical care in urban environments. His writing reflects a practical interest in improving outcomes through knowledge sharing and dissemination. While he has earned several awards for his service and skill, including recognition from surgical nursing staff and residency honors, what matters most to him is the impact on the lives of patients.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, fitness, and baseball. These interests offer a quiet balance to the intensity of his surgical responsibilities. While not formally aligned with philanthropic organizations, his consistent service in high-need regions demonstrates his ongoing commitment to making a difference.

Dr. Gabriel Carabello continues to serve patients in both Los Angeles and Yuma, drawing on decades of experience and training. He remains focused on delivering high-quality care with a steady hand and a thoughtful approach to every case.
