2. THE PROBLEM • Conflicting areas of service • Disrupted customer flow and crowding • Queue blocks products in counter • High tabletop disconnects barista and customers • Retail back cabinets have no space
3. OUR CONCEPT Counter • Extends into the back-room • Holds food in the beginning of the queue • Extra storage space in back cabinets Courtyard • Excavate the ground area • Replace walls with sliding glass doors • Areas for seating with extended staircase

BENEFITS OF CONCEPT • Flow of Queue improved • Enforces cleanliness with open storage and service space • Best use of back space • Extended counter defines queue • Courtyard excavation allows extra seating • New entry to courtyard invites movement outside • Expanded the cafe • Ambient and natural lighting • Potential courtyard use for venues and events
