Griffith Littlehale’s professional path reflects a clear commitment to service, learning, and responsible patient care. Based in Toledo, OH, he works as an Emergency Medical Technician with Ambulance Services, providing essential medical support to individuals in urgent situations. His work often centers on vulnerable and homebound patients who may not have easy access to healthcare facilities. He believes medical care should reach people where they are, especially those who face barriers to seeking help through traditional systems. By combining emergency medical training with a background in psychology, he strives to meet the physical and emotional needs of those he serves.
Raised in Toledo, Griffith attended St. Francis De Sales High School and graduated in 2018, ranked eighth in his class. His academic performance demonstrated focus and consistency. During his high school years, he was also dedicated to competitive swimming and earned All-American honors in 2017-2018. Athletics strengthened his discipline and time management, qualities that later supported his college studies. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Toledo to pursue a Bachelor of Science in psychology. His decision was shaped by a strong interest in understanding behavior and mental health. As a first-year student, he received the President's Education Award for academic excellence. The Jesup Scott Honors College and the Kappa Psi Fraternity also recognized him. These accomplishments marked the beginning of a path grounded in both intellectual growth and service.
In April 2025, Griffith completed his Emergency Medical Technician Basic certification through the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. The program provided structured and practical preparation for emergency response. In 2024, his dedication to patient care was recognized with the Clinical Excellence Award, sponsored by the University of Toledo and The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC). His EMT training includes patient assessment, basic life support procedures such as CPR and AED use, wound care, medication assistance, trauma stabilization, and safe patient transport. He understands that emergency care requires attention to detail, so he prioritizes clear communication and accurate documentation to support coordinated treatment with hospital teams. His academic foundation in psychology allows him to recognize signs of emotional distress, helping him approach patients with patience and awareness during moments of crisis.
Since joining the Ambulance Services in June 2024, Griffith has become involved in community-focused medical efforts across Toledo. He responds to emergency calls while also assisting individuals who face barriers to regular medical care. His focus on homebound patients reflects his belief that dignity and access should not depend on mobility or resources. Each response is guided by professionalism and respect.
Outside of work, Griffith volunteers in his community. He has helped prepare and serve meals to the homeless through local churches and has supported United Way food drives. He also continues developing his interest in graphic design, creating school advertisements, theater posters, and holiday cards for a local church. Reading remains an important part of his routine, with interests that include Bret Easton Ellis, Edgar Allan Poe, Descartes, and Oscar Wilde.
With a steady outlook on the future, Griffith Littlehale is considering graduate study in psychology and potential clinical practice. He is also exploring organizational behavior, particularly issues related to workplace diversity and mental health. At the same time, he hopes to expand his freelance design work and travel to gain broader experiences. Through consistent effort and service, he aims to continue growing while contributing meaningfully to his community.
