Coastal Georgia AD (2021)

This is a storyboard I created for a Coastal Georgia advertisement pitch to The Georgia Department of Economic Development with Ideas United. This storyboard was created in 3 days with revisions.

1. Scene 1 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "We visited the first time a few years after my daughter was born." Action Notes PAN RIGHT. 1990 - We see a family enjoying the day on St. Simons Island beach.
2. Scene 1 Panel 2 Action Notes PAN RIGHT.
3. Scene 1 Panel 3 Action Notes Mom and Dad are relaxing while Son (6) and Daughter (3) are playing in the sand by them.
4. Scene 2 Panel 1
5. Scene 2 Panel 2 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I go play in the water?" Action Notes Daughter gives Mom a shell she's found while digging in the sand and then asks, "Can I go play in the water?"

8. Scene 4 Panel 1 Action Notes Mom smiles and gets up, grabs Daughter's hand and they walk toward the water together.

15. Scene 8 Panel 1 Action Notes TILT DOWN. Now we see the family on a Ghost tour in downtown Savannah in spring.

17. Scene 8 Panel 3 Action Notes Daughter, who is now 4, gets frightened and grabs Mom's hand.
18. Scene 8 Panel 4 Action Notes Mom smiles and looks at Daughter.
19. Scene 9 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "And again." Action Notes Then we see the whole family, slightly older, eating at a seafood restaurant together in winter.
20. Scene 9 Panel 2 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I try what you're drinking mommy?" Action Notes Daughter, now 6, asks Mom, "Can I try what you're drinking mommy?"
21. Scene 9 Panel 3 Dialog MOM: "Not 'till you're older." Action Notes Mom and Dad laugh and mom says, "Not 'till you're older." She and Dad share a knowing glance and laugh.
22. Scene 10 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "Each visit brought us new memories," Action Notes Then we see the family looking on in awe at Forsyth Park's sidewalks covered in chalk masterpieces.
23. Scene 11 Panel 1 Action Notes Next, we see them boarding a dolphin tour boat. In each scene, the family is getting slightly older.
24. Scene 12 Panel 1 Action Notes Outside of their beach house we see Son and Daughter catching fireflies in the evening.
25. Scene 12 Panel 2 Action Notes We see Mom wave and motion for them to come inside.
26. Scene 12 Panel 3 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I have 10 more minutes, Mommy?"
27. Scene 12 Panel 4 Dialog MOM: "Alright but just 10 more!"
28. Scene 13 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "New reasons to laugh," Action Notes We see Mom and Daughter standing outside of the Juliet Gordon Low house.

30. Scene 15 Panel 1 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I go play with the other girls, Mommy?" Action Notes Daughter, who is 8, is wearing a girl scout vest and asks Mom, "Can I go play with the other girls, Mommy?"

32. Scene 15 Panel 3 Action Notes Mom nods and Daughter plays in the home's courtyard with other girl scouts.
33. Scene 16 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "And new ways to bring us together." Action Notes We see the 10-year-old Daughter and Mom shopping together in the shops by the beach on St. Simons Island,
34. Scene 17 Panel 1 Action Notes then we see Dad teaching Daughter and Son how to swing their golf clubs properly at the golf course on Jekyll Island.
35. Scene 18 Panel 1 Action Notes We see the family at the water's edge on a marsh. They're renting kayaks to go explore the winding waterways. While dad is talking with the rental employee, Daughter (who is now 12ish), grabs Mom's hand.
36. Scene 19 Panel 1 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I have my own kayak this time, Mommy?" Action Notes Mom turns to her and Daughter asks, "Can I have my own kayak this time, Mommy?"
37. Scene 19 Panel 2 Action Notes We see Mom's eyebrows lift and furrow - she's realizing her daughter is growing up.
38. Scene 19 Panel 3 Action Notes Mom nods in agreement
39. Scene 20 Panel 1 Action Notes and we watch as the Daughter paddles her kayak in the water.
40. Scene 21 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "So we planted roots in the Golden Isles." Action Notes Next, we watch the family explore the Carnegie ruins.
41. Scene 22 Panel 1 Dialog DAUGHTER: "Can I stay here a little longer, Mom?" Action Notes We see the family about to venture down a trail, but Daughter (14) asks Mom, "Can I stay here for a little longer, Mom?"
42. Scene 22 Panel 2 Dialog MOM: (mouthing) "Mom?" Action Notes Mom agrees and looks to Dad. She mouths the word "Mom?" while tilting her head, seeing again that her daughter is growing up. Dad chuckles and shrugs to Mom and we see the Daughter begin drawing.
43. Scene 23 Panel 1 Dialog MOTHER VO: "And as our traditions grew," Action Notes We see Dad and Daughter (16) fish off the pier together.
44. Scene 24 Panel 1 Action Notes PAN RIGHT.
45. Scene 24 Panel 2 Action Notes Then, we see the family on the beach together again but
46. Scene 24 Panel 3 Action Notes Daughter (18) is getting up to go walk down the beach.
47. Scene 25 Panel 1 Dialog MOM: "Don't go too far." Action Notes Mom looks up from her book and says, "Don't go too far."
48. Scene 25 Panel 2 Dialog DAUGHTER: (offscreen) "Can I get a little slack?" Action Notes Daughter half-jokingly replies, "Can I get a little slack?" Her and Mom chuckle together.
49. Scene 26 Panel 1 Action Notes Daughter walks down the beach, Mom smiling as she watches her get farther and farther away.
50. Scene 26 Panel 2 Dialog DAD: "Teenagers, man."
51. Scene 27 Panel 1 Action Notes We see Mom, Daughter (21), and the Daughter's Partner clink wine glasses together.
52. Scene 28 Panel 1 Action Notes Next, we see Daughter (24) in a wedding dress at the Chapel on Jekyll Island. Mom is helping her get ready for her big day and helps Daughter put on her veil.
53. Scene 29 Panel 1 Action Notes Daughter takes a deep breath
54. Scene 29 Panel 2 Action Notes and then Mom grabs her hand.

66. Scene 36 Panel 2 Action Notes Daughter smiles and Mom begins holding Granddaughter.
