Holly DeNeve

Holly DeNeve is an Indiana attorney whose career has been deeply rooted in child welfare law. She spent over 10 years with the Indiana Department of Child Services, where she handled sensitive, complex cases involving children and families, particularly in St. Joseph County. Her work was marked by steady focus, thorough preparation, and a commitment to doing what served the best interests of children, often in situations that received little public attention but carried lasting impact.

Holly graduated from New Prairie High School in 2004 and earned a degree in political science with a minor in environmental studies in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. She completed her Juris Doctor in 2011 and passed the Indiana Bar Exam later that year. From the beginning, she chose to follow a public service path, prioritizing meaningful legal work over private practice.

Her legal journey began as a temporary legal assistant, then transitioned to a full-time staff attorney role in St. Joseph County. She managed a range of child welfare cases, including those involving children in need of services, adoptions, guardianships, and termination of parental rights. Her responsibilities included drafting motions, managing discovery, conducting witness interviews, and representing clients in court. Her consistent presence and attention to detail made her a trusted figure within the courtroom.

Holly worked closely with judges, prosecutors, and caseworkers, keeping up to date with changes in statutes and case law. Her practical knowledge and clear communication led to several opportunities to present at continuing legal education seminars. In 2016, she briefly stepped away from the department but returned shortly thereafter and continued her work until September 2025, demonstrating her ongoing dedication.

Outside of her professional role, Holly and her husband contributed to their community through donations and support for local programs benefiting children and families. Her early experience assisting survivors of domestic violence during law school strengthened her belief in the power of legal advocacy.

Holly DeNeve is now preparing to establish a solo practice focused on mediation, guardian ad litem work, and child protection, carrying forward the same principles that have guided her throughout her legal career.
