Jason Barakat

For more than 25 years, Jason Barakat has been a financial services leader, entrepreneur, visionary, and philanthropist. His career has spanned the financial, insurance, legal, and nonprofit sectors, where he has been recognized for transforming organizations and creating opportunities that extend into the wider community. His journey reflects a steady balance of professional growth and social responsibility.

Much of Jason’s work has centered on talent development and strategic partnerships. He has overseen more than a thousand advisors and 60 leaders across Canada, supporting their careers and building strong networks. At the same time, he has helped establish more than 200 business partnerships with associations, groups, and government institutions. These collaborations were built to provide specialized, value-driven financial services to individuals, families, and organizations.

Blending leadership, innovation, and purpose, Ghassan has focused much of his career on recruiting and mentoring. He has guided hundreds of professionals into meaningful financial services careers, and many have advanced into leadership. His results have earned him awards for financial excellence, meeting ambitious goals, and leading teams toward higher profitability and operational efficiency. These achievements reflect both his vision and the consistent work of the teams he has supported.

Ghassan Barakat has always been motivated by the will to learn, adapt, and build with intention. His career path has included consulting, designing new solutions, integrating performance philanthropy, exploring opportunities in the legal ecosystem, and guiding strategic acquisitions. He has aimed to make legal-financial services more widely accessible, shaped by his guiding principles of equity, economic and social value creation, democratization of financial opportunity, and the belief that financial knowledge and legal protection should be open to everyone.

Jason has also shown the ability to move across finance, law, technology, and philanthropy, creating bridges between industries that do not always intersect. Whether launching startups, growing multi-million-dollar platforms, or supporting charitable projects, Jason’s work has been directed toward creating systems that serve people and leave behind lasting benefits.

In 2022, Ghassan founded Nolos Cabinet Multidisciplinaire Inc. and continues to serve as its Founder & CEO. Nolos was designed as a Canadian company integrating FinTech, InsurTech, and LegalTech under one platform. This initiative aims to democratize financial and legal services for middle-class families. The Nolos ecosystem includes a Quebec-based legal firm, a notarial study, and a national financial MGA that distributes protection and wealth solutions from top Canadian institutions. Under his leadership, Nolos has expanded through acquisitions and partnerships. These include the acquisition of Skylegal in 2022 and the creation of a charitable foundation in 2023 dedicated to improving access to justice and financial protection during estate and legacy planning. He recently acquired a technology company that develops specialized software for public and private organizations, adding new B2B capabilities to the Nolos platform.

Before founding Nolos, Jason Barakat was active as a Strategic Senior Consultant, taking on mandates for Chubb Insurance and other major organizations. From 2003 to 2021, he served as President and Principal Officer with AMF of La Capitale Services Conseils. During this time, he grew the firm’s assets under management from $300 million to over $3 billion and developed services tailored to Quebec’s public sector employees. In 2017, he became President of La Capitale Financial Security, where he led national operations for disability and personal finance solutions, modernized compensation structures, and built a culture focused on inclusion and performance.
