Ruby for Reals - from Rails Girl to real life software developer.

These slides complement my story of how Rails Girls inspired me to pursue a career in software development.

After reading an article about two women, Lieke and Shannon, who learnt programming after different studies, I was inspired to do the same. I inquired at my company if they would let me follow a development course. Instead, they decided to set up a 1,5 year study & work program. I have now finished this and am thoroughly enjoying software development, because we can make meaningful solutions that matter to people. And for me personally it combines social interaction, technical challenges and the magic of creation!
