Logan Sugarman is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and builder best known as the Founder and CEO of Refresh. This HR technology platform is transforming how organizations connect with and support their employees. With over two decades of experience spanning Wall Street, climate technology, and enterprise software, he has dedicated his career to building ventures that bridge data, logistics, and human behavior to create meaningful and scalable impact.
Founded in 2007, Refresh is a customizable all-in-one SuperApp that brings together every tool, benefit, and communication system used by global workforces, with a special focus on frontline and deskless employees. The platform tailors each worker’s experience based on role, employment type, and location, ensuring they have access to resources that matter most. In many large organizations, hundreds of tools are deployed, with HR teams adding several new applications each month, resulting in inefficiencies that cost more than $100 billion in management time, deprive employees of $400 billion in value, and lead to $50 billion in missed vendor revenue. Under his leadership, Refresh has become a trusted partner to Fortune 500 companies, major unions, and nonprofit organizations, offering over 3,000 integrations across HR, payroll, and learning systems.
In 2025, SHRM selected Refresh as one of three companies from over 500 applicants for its Accelerator Program and made a strategic investment, recognizing its influence in advancing workplace wellness and engagement. The platform has also earned honors from Accenture’s Global HR Technology Challenge and built partnerships with HUB International and UKG.
He is also the Co-Founder of Triangle Digital, Inc., a company connecting big data with financial assets to promote climate resilience. The firm received Environmental Finance’s 2025 Innovation of the Year in Carbon Markets and recognition from Brazil’s Central Bank for its Blended Finance solution.
As Co-Founder and CIO of Balcony Partners, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm managing $100 million, he leads strategies focused on quantitative investing and clean energy. He also sponsors two Nasdaq-listed SPACs, GSR III and GSR IV.
An active early-stage investor with more than 100 angel investments, he also advises several startups. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Economics and Psychology, he has been a CFA Charter Holder since 2004.
Originally from Minnesota, Logan Sugarman now lives in New York with his wife and daughter, continuing to build solutions that empower people and drive meaningful progress.
