13. Code kata is a term created by Dave Thomas, based on the concept of katas in martial arts/martial arts. The Far Eastern concept of kata is a kind of "shadow boxing", in which predetermined sequences of movements are trained in combat against imaginary opponents. Through the constant repetition of the kata, the sequence of movements becomes second nature to the trainee, so that he can use the trained sequences unconsciously and instinctively . A code kata is a programming task with a manageable scope, which should help the developer to give his programming skills, by repeatedly solving the task, the fi nal "polish".
