Matthew Carluccio, an award-winning Executive Producer at NBC, has built a nearly three-decade career in broadcast journalism and editorial management. He has been a key contributor to respected programs including Dateline NBC, TODAY, Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, and NBC News Specials. Known for his consistency and commitment, he has guided coverage of major national and international events while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and professionalism.

Carluccio grew up in Toms River, NJ, where curiosity about the world and the influence of his parents, who worked in law and psychology, sparked an early interest in journalism. After attending a boarding school in Pennsylvania, he studied Political Science and Psychology at Clark University in Massachusetts. This education provided him with valuable insight into how people and institutions operate, as well as how stories can be shaped to inform and engage audiences. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and moved to New York City to begin his career.

His professional path started at King World TV, where he worked as an Assistant to the Executive Producer. This role exposed him to the challenges of television production and provided a foundation for his career. Matthew later joined NBC as an Associate Producer at Dateline NBC, where he contributed to long-form storytelling, investigative reporting, and general assignments. He built strong skills in writing, editing, and field production while working on both domestic and international assignments, including reporting from the Middle East and overseeing coverage of high-profile criminal trials.

In 2005, he transitioned to the TODAY brand, producing broadcasts from diverse locations, including Cuba, Belize, the Vatican, and Antarctica, where he made the first live network news report from the South Pole. He also produced coverage of the Olympic Games, beginning in Torino in 2006 and continuing through Beijing in 2022. His leadership advanced as he became Supervising Producer in 2008, Senior Producer in 2011, and Executive Producer of the weekend editions of TODAY in 2014. In 2016, he helped launch Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, which became a successful and lasting extension of the TODAY portfolio. Since 2020, Carluccio has also served as Executive Producer of NBC News Specials, leading coverage of primary elections, inaugurations, and international state ceremonies.

Outside of work, he has been married for 18 years and is the father of three boys. He lives with his family and two dogs in Philadelphia, balancing his professional responsibilities with personal interests such as reading, listening to podcasts, participating in youth sports, surfing, skiing, and cooking Italian food, while cheering for the NY Yankees.
