Mazen Moein Mokhtar is an accomplished chief executive with over 17 years of senior leadership in the information technology industry and over 11 years guiding influential nonprofit organizations. His career reflects a rare balance of technical expertise, mission-driven leadership, and global perspective. Known for strategic clarity and disciplined execution, he has consistently led organizations through growth, transformation, and increased impact while maintaining strong ethical and humanitarian values.
As chief executive officer of Baitulmaal, Mazen leads an international humanitarian relief organization delivering life-saving, life-sustaining, and life-enriching assistance to underserved communities around the world, regardless of faith or nationality. Since joining in 2018, he has defined strategic priorities, overseen operations in more than twenty-three countries and the United States, and strengthened governance, accountability, and team development across the organization.
Before Baitulmaal, Mazen served as executive director of the Muslim American Society from 2013 to 2018. The organization operates more than forty chapters nationwide and focuses on education, youth development, civic engagement, and community service. During his tenure, he advanced organizational growth, expanded programming, and reinforced MAS as a respected voice in American Muslim civic and social life.
Alongside nonprofit leadership, Mazen has remained deeply engaged in education, dialogue, and public discourse. He contributed to West Point’s Winning the Peace program, which cultivates cultural and religious understanding among future military officers. A frequent lecturer on youth, Islamic, and interfaith topics, he has spoken at institutions including Princeton University, New York University, Boston University, Rutgers, and other leading academic centers.
Earlier in his career, Mazen built a successful path in information technology. He founded MindCraft in 1996, a New Jersey-based consulting firm providing IT and business solutions to clients ranging from global enterprises to startups. His firm served organizations such as Merrill Lynch, Merck, IBM partners, AT&T affiliates, and primary healthcare and technology companies, building a reputation for precision, innovation, and trusted advisory services.
Mazen Mokhtar holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is certified as a Project Management Professional and ITIL professional. He coauthored a notable 1991 research paper on evolutionary optimization methods. Residing in Irving, Texas, with his wife, Soulafa Amer, and their six children, he remains committed to philanthropy, learning, and service, shaped by the values instilled during his upbringing in Alexandria, Egypt.
