  1. One full of life, the other haunted by death, Nina

and Violeta, two teenagers from Yugoslavia become blood sisters in a Swedish refugee camp. When the peace agreement ends the war, their “sisterhood” is threatened by their dreams for the future and their need to belong.
  2. Nina, 19 When life interrupted her first year of high

school, the war found her dressed as a punk rock version of Madonna in the early 80’s. Rebellious, pretends that she doesn’t give a shit!
  3. Violeta, 17 She was in a music conservatory when the

war interrupted and killed her parents. Hoping that her sister who is missing in war is still alive, she picks blueberries in the Swedish forest because the sensation reminds her of her childhood memories.
  4. MOOD/LOOK Extracting a raw performance and using the camera in

a semi documentary way bringing it up and close and placing it in the middle of the action. Groups of people, the masses, have a threatening face. Loneliness and deep scars make us incapable to heal. The gritty realistic everyday of the characters is juxtaposed by beautiful, fairytale like nature that brings peace or could bring tranquility if the characters could let go off the past and live in the present.
