Norman Badger

Norman Badger has committed more than three decades to a career with Publix, the employee-owned grocery chain in the United States. His professional growth reflects dedication, hard work, and steady leadership. From his start in hourly roles to his current position as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, he has assumed responsibilities that have strengthened his experience and enabled him to support the company's success. In his current role, he oversees store operations across the organization, focusing on maintaining consistent standards, promoting employee development, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Publix operates over 1,400 stores in eight southeastern states, with the most significant number in Florida, as well as additional stores in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. He began his career in 1995 as a front-service clerk in Aiken, South Carolina, gaining experience in different hourly roles before being promoted to store manager in 2007. As a manager, he oversaw budgets, staff leadership, inventory, and merchandising, while maintaining a culture of service. In 2014, he advanced to District Manager, where he supervised multiple stores, worked closely with managers, and ensured that company policies and goals were achieved. Three years later, he became Regional Director, where his focus included regional growth, operational consistency, and leadership development.

In 2020, Norman Badger, Publix, was promoted to Vice President of Product Business Development for the Bakery and Meat departments. His work included expanding product categories, strengthening supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and improving merchandising and supply chain strategies. He ensured product offerings matched customer expectations and supported broader company goals. In 2024, he became Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, taking on responsibility for all store-level operations. In this position, he leads regional and store teams, drives operational consistency, and contributes to the company’s long-term planning. He remains thankful for the opportunities he has been given and values the people he works with.

He was born in Jacksonville, FL, and married his high school sweetheart in 2001. They have a son and have lived in several cities, including Atlanta, Charleston, and Raleigh, before returning to Florida. Family plays a vital role in his life, and they enjoy traveling and creating lasting memories together. Sports are also a passion he shares with his son. They are fans of the Steelers and Penn State, attending games each year as a tradition that has strengthened their bond. In 2023, they traveled to Glendale, Arizona, to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the Eagles, an experience they both valued. His son plays JV football in multiple positions and also enjoys basketball. Watching him play brings pride, and over time, he has collected keepsakes from their trips, each one representing a memory of their time together.
