  1. POV A young tech startup founder needs something to look

forward to when he opens his email because he associates email with the stress of unfinished tasks, difficult questions, and problems relating to his new business.
  2. Email Victims Dimitri, 27. Young French entrepreneur raising capital for

his startup in SV. “Email is THE most stressful part of my day. Before I check my email in the morning, I have to read the news, have some coffee, and take a shower before I’ m mentally prepared to login to my email.” Mik, 27. Tech entrepreneur, Dimitri’s co-founder. “My email is also my to do list. I don’t let myself mark something as “read” if I haven’t responded to it, or done the task associated with it. Ideally I would keep my number on unread messages at 0, but it’s easy to get overwhelmed when you see that number creep up.” Roham, 27. Founder of an early-stage digital strategy consulting firm. “I hate things that reconfigure my email. I don’t trust their accuracy, the idea of losing an important email terrifies me. It’s enough to have one false negative.”
