  1. How can we increase the frequency with which kids check-in

    with their parents? Alessandra + Roxana + Tyler | d.Compress 2013
  2. Hypothesis By reducing the effort (# of clicks) required to

update their parents, the frequency of communication between parents and children will increase. This will give parents more peace of mind, and make them feel more involved in their kids' lives, (and kids less guilty about being unresponsive).
  3. Results The app resonated with 100% of respondents, BUT for

specific situations. best used as a transitionary tool to help both parents and children learn to live independently The vagueness of the check-in buttons was well- received among parents and children: the communication is built trust vs. supervisory threat.
  4. Future Iterations + What if we designed this for specific

transition periods? (first license, moving away to college)? + Experimenting with button design- should it be organized by location, action, feeling? + How do we signal to parents when it is a good time to call? +Time Element/Calendar Integration?
