    A&M Engineering Extension Service Integrative Center for Homeland Security National UAS Credentialing Program June 2015 – Present Steve is responsible for the strategic outcomes related to homeland security integration across the TEEX organization as well developing new programs and initiatives. His role at the NUASCP is providing 3rd Party Vetting for sUAS service providers nationwide for state/county/municipal agencies and major industry leaders in the fields of oil and gas, energy, telecommunications, surveying, precision agriculture as well as others. This includes the development, delivery and establishment of training and credentialing programs through various Cooperative Learning Centers across the United States and Internationally
  2. PURPOSE: Enable companies to certify compliance with FAA regulations regarding

    commercial and public agency UAS operations and demonstrate safe UAS flight
  3. Stake Holder Partners • Public Agencies-First Responders – Fire -

    EMS – Police - Emergency Management • Oil and Gas Infrastructure Inspection • Energy-Utilities – Cellular -Electric – Wind Turbines • Transportation Infrastructure • Press Photographers
  4. SCOPE: UAS operators enrolled in this Program are provided with:

    3rd Party FAA UAS Test Site comprehensive vetting of all COA/107 required documents, operational, training, emergency response and safety procedures, as well as live oral/flight operations audits to include:  Full COA or Part 107 Document and Flight Safety-Flight Operations Review-Verification.  ~70 Question scenario based Oral Audit; assesses safety culture, airman’s knowledge.  Live-Flight Operations-full launch and recovery Audit at the LSUASC ranges like the TAMU RELLIS Campus including all elements of flight operations.  Feedback from FAA UAS Test Site SMEs on operational and safety procedure enhancement options to consider and areas to improve.
  5. Completion of the Credentialing Program Qualified vendors will support TEEX-LSUASC

    programs: • Texas State Agency R&D and mission support • Published as a “Qualified UAS Vendor”:  On the National UAS Credentialing Program and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) website, Social Media, and the Homeland Security Social Media  On the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation (LSUASC) Website  At Quarterly National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) meetings and to the NDPC State Administrative Agent (SAA) Training POC Advisory Board (10 FEMA Regions)
  6. WORKING OPPORTUNITIES: • State and Federal Emergency Management Rapid Response

    Support • TEEX-LSUASC Oil and Gas/Electric partner infrastructure inspection • TEEX-LSUASC reaching out to other energy sector stakeholders • TEEX-LSUASC adding other State, Local, Federal, and Industry sector stakeholders on a monthly basis
  7. UAS Centre of Excellence On May 10, 2017 Texas A&M

    Engineering Extension Service, Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence, and the UAS Center of Excellence signed a Memorandum of Agreement. This Agreement allows for the credentialing program, training programs and research to be exchanged between the parties.
