Motivations for Open Data • Openness makes data storage and distribution easier. − Less friction even for formal and internal use! • We have the resources for what's necessary, not what all's interesting and potentially valuable. • Anyone can invent new ways to analyse and use the data. • Support and take advantage of learning and research. • Data science needs data. • ...
